A performative design tool that foreground gestures in composition-making. After uploading source materials, users can produce graphic arrangements by physically manipulating colored paper under camera. The work was inspired by pre-digital graphic practices such as Letraset, phototypesetting, and paste-up where design was literally constructed through cutting, transferring and assembling by hand. The process was labor intensive and at the same time emphasized the hand-mind-body connection. Equally important was the critique of contemporary digital software that homogenizes the creative process into closed, efficiency driven systems. By centering analog process within digital space, I intended for a direct visibility of body in action and a reminder that design manifests through the body just as much as through the screen.
